Billing for stored materials on a pay application
Column F of the continuation sheet, materials presently stored, lets you bill for materials delivered to the site (or a bonded warehouse) but not yet installed. It must not include anything already counted in columns D or E.
What GCs usually ask for
- Invoices or bills of lading for the materials.
- Proof of storage and insurance, especially for off-site storage.
- Sometimes photos, or a transfer of title.
Check your contract: some don't pay for stored materials at all, or only on approved lines.
Next month
When stored materials are installed, the installed value moves from column F into column E (this period), and F goes down by the same amount. Drawsheet's roll-forward keeps column F as it was and reminds you to update it, because only you know what was installed.
Retainage on stored materials
Line 5b applies the stored-materials retainage rate to column F; it can differ from the rate on completed work.
